WHO WE ARE
SCIENCE IGNITE AFRICA INITIATIVE is a non-profit Non-Governmental Organization that seeks to enhance the impact of science education in Nigeria and Africa at large. Science Ignite focuses on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education and constantly seeks to train and equip children and youths in rural and sub-urban communities with problem-solving skills through practical real-life application of STEM education. We are solution-oriented and strongly advocate for an educational system that provides hands-on experience of practical application.WATCH VIDEO
WHAT WE DO AND HOW WE DO IT
We enlighten Children on STEM disciplines and guide them to make career choices in areas of their passion and strength through motivational class sessions that are facilitated by successful Africans in STEM fields. Through this motivation, we increase the awareness and participation of African children and youths in future technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality, Cloud Computing, Drone Technology, Genetic Engineering and Bio printing.
We train children and youths on how to develop commercial technological solutions to community problems using readily available local materials in order to reduce the amount spent on imported technologies and infrastructures thereby promoting economic growth through employment in rural and sub-urban communities.WATCH VIDEO
We have come a long way since when we first started…
Dissatisfied with the failing systems in Nigeria, Deolu, a pharmacist and entrepreneur began to search for answers. He came to a conclusion, Africa cannot advance economically, unless we advance in science and technology. This gave birth to a vision he once had, to make Africa a great continent through the empowerment of children and youths with ptactical solution-oriented STEM learning. This was a huge task only achievable by a dedicated team…but Blessing and Joshua came onboard.
A dedicated talented Engineer and lecturer, Joshua shared the vision and we began to create indigenous solutions to solve indigenous problems.
The educational system had failed to birth innovators and we solely depend on imported products. It is just easier to get rich without being innovative but they left everything to lay a foundation that will stand the storms and tides of time.
When asked why he could not join the foray of men who cherish a pay check over impact,
Deolu said, “The Present is theirs, but the future for which we diligently and faithfully work hard for is ours; and now is the future”.
